1. What are your 2 biggest achievements in the year 2016?

I think for 2016 one of my biggest achievements is making my business grow more.

Middle of 2015 I resigned from my corporate job and few months after that I put up my own business. I left a stable job to have a more flexible time to be with my children. For several months I barely had salary because my focus was the business. I had some good projects last 2016 that I and my partners are really proud of.

The second one is getting more involved in my son’s school. I accepted a class representative position. It was more work but I was so proud of it because my son was so happy every time he sees me go to his school. He is also proud of his mom being there helping out other parents and students. He is still at that age that he loves being with his mom.

2. What are your goals for the year 2017 (w.r.t blogging)?

For this year my goal is to reinvent myself as a blogger. I would like to rebrand from Blairbitchbunny to a more mommy-friendly brand. I’m already planning the transition to a new site.

It’s bittersweet for me because I have carried that name for 10years or more. I’m a bit scared that readers might overlook the new site but in the end, I write also for me. I do this also for myself, so hopefully, it will be a success.

3. What is your best advice for beginning mommy bloggers?

My best advice is to be true to your brand. Be true to yourself. You might have a peg or a blogger mom idol that you try to aspire to be. But don’t forget that being authentic will attract more readers. Our audience is very smart and they can spot those who are pretending to be someone they are not.

1. What are your 2 biggest achievements in the year 2016?

My two biggest achievements are probably, one, to be able to sustain blogging while launching a new startup company in 2016 called Taxumo. And two possibly solidified branding more.

The brand, Mommy Ginger, is now more equated better than ever with not mompreneurship and pursuing entrepreneurial dreams and passions.

2. What are your goals for the year 2017 (w.r.t blogging)?

My goal would possibly be to gain more traction in other channels like Instagram and Youtube. Another goal is to hone my skills in analytics since it will help my brand grow.

3. What is your best advice for beginning mommy bloggers?

Blogging is fun, but it’s also hard work. There are a lot of things that you need to learn. Developing your skills in writing is one thing, but you will also need to learn how to speak fluently in front of a camera (or at least convey an idea), understand branding, analytics, a little bit of SEO, etc. 🙂

1. What are your 2 biggest achievements in the year 2016?

My biggest achievement in 2016 is committing to an active lifestyle. It was the year I could say I became a fitness enthusiast– adding it to a few other roles that I play–a hands-on mom, a homemaker, a lifestyle blogger. Having an active lifestyle has paved way for more opportunities for me to be better.

2. What are your goals for the year 2017 (w.r.t blogging)?

I don’t really have a goal for my blog year after year. If anything, it is to continue doing what I do and that I may have the energy & time to devote to blogging since I have other roles as well. Though I’m currently exploring other channels such as Youtube. I’ve started posting videos on my YouTube.com/gojackiego already. Hoping I can sustain it like my blog.

3. What is your best advice for beginning mommy bloggers?

For those who want to blog whether you’re a mom or not, my one and only advice is to just start! Do it because you want to contribute something good to the wonderful world wide web not because you want to be famous or you want to get sponsored or you want to earn money.

Do it because you simply want to and everything else will follow. Be true to your voice and who are you online and offline.

1. What are your 2 biggest achievements in the year 2016?

If it comes to blogging, I think my biggest achievement is that I worked with more brands and more people were interested in collaborating with me. I also got more opportunities to earn through my blog.

If it comes to being a mom, I consider the achievements of my daughter as my achievements. Everything that she could do makes me proud of my choice to take care of her instead of working from 8-5. I actually work at home with different online jobs and I also practice my profession as a civil engineer while blogging at the same time. Being able to see my daughter grow in all aspects is one great achievement for me as a mother.

And, in 2016, I had my second baby which gives me more inspiration to write and grow, not just as a person but as a parent.

2. What are your goals for the year 2017 (w.r.t blogging)?

My goal is to share more helpful parenting posts as well as interesting round-ups or list articles that will interest both parents and kids. This is one primary goal of the blog- to connect the heart strings of the parents and their little ones. Although it is challenging to maintain articles for the blogs, I am hoping that I will be able to share more this year.

It is also my aim to grow my blog and my readers this year. Through my blog, I want to help other aspiring bloggers. I believe that blogging is a fulfillment for every writer. That is why I also encourage my writer friends to start their own blog.

In the long run, they will benefit from it. Aside from that, my friend and I will be launching another website that will be about the Filipinos, for the Filipinos and even for those who are Pinoys at heart. Through this, we will be able to touch lives and be an avenue for self-expression for our fellow Pinoys.

3. What is your best advice for beginning mommy bloggers?

As long as you love what you are doing, you will never fail. Do not put too much pressure on yourself when it comes to blogging because I believe that you will be able to express yourself better if you are writing from the heart and not because you just need to write.

Blogging is actually fun. When I started my blog, I just write for fun with the goal of helping others in mind. I never expected that it will grow. Through time, I gained followers and different companies here and abroad reached to me for reviews and sponsored posts.

My goal in blogging isn’t to earn but to express and to inspire. If you put earning last in your priority, you will achieve in expressing yourself and inspiring others. And like me, you will also earn from doing something that you are passionate about.

Also, avoid competing with other mommy bloggers. Instead, join groups where you can help each other to promote your posts and grow your blog. You can also get inspiration from other blogs and do not be hesitant to ask help from other bloggers.

You have to bear in mind that success can be achieved in the blogging world by helping each other. Lastly, just be yourself. Write what you want, what you are interested about, and write using your own style. You do not need to sound like a certain blogger in order to succeed.

1. What are your 2 biggest achievements in the year 2016?

My biggest achievements in the year 2016 were working with Olay for the Olay Skin Whitening Soap Campaign and Guesting in Rated K for the Pynocare Segment.

2.What are your goals for the year 2017 (w.r.t blogging)?

My goals for 2017 will be focused on more blog reviews and feature in lifestyle and parenting. I’m also planning to create new segments on my blog.

3. What is your best advice for the beginning mommy bloggers?

Create quality content for your blog. You have to be true to yourself. Be patient. Ask yourself why you want to blog. If your answer is to receive tokens, free products, and samples then you have to think again. You blog because you want to share knowledge and information. Those will come later.

1. What are your 2 biggest achievements in the year 2016?

I think my top 2 biggest blogging achievements this year were: first, many companies are now reaching out to me asking for media exposures, most of them are brands that I’m already using and trust and some are new products that listen to what the market needs.

Working with them was fun because I am confident and proud to introduce them to my readers for them to try too. The next one was being featured at Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho for my son’s YouTube channel and to be one of the participants in PTV4 station ID (because they got my story through the blog).

2. What are your goals for the year 2017 (w.r.t blogging)?

My main goal in blogging is to help people to learn from my experiences as a mom and homemaker. Now I want to inspire others to be fit and strong. Some of my most read articles are my tips and ideas and product reviews.

In today’s generation, people rely on the internet for this, it’s the easiest way to get feedback kasi. This year 2017, my goal is to be able to post more tips, especially in handling finances, taking care of a special kid, getting back in shape and how to earn income while staying home.

3. What is your best advice for beginning mommy bloggers?

Blogging is one way for us moms to reach out to others. Juggling from one task to another is hard, writing your thoughts down will help you to be sane.

At first, it will make you feel you’re alone and nobody is reading your blog, but just continue posting meaningful and quality stories that you are passionate about and you will be surprised that one day someone will thank you for sharing your story and that she/he was touched and can relate to you.

Just keep in mind to be true to your readers. If brands approach you, it’s easy to say yes but you need to consider and reassess your goals before accepting one.

1. What are your 2 biggest achievements in the year 2016?

My first biggest achievement is choosing my children and myself for the first time in a long time. I’m a single mom now but despite that, I’ve never been better or happier. The second is becoming a brand ambassador for a milk brand that we love. The opportunity to represent a brand and be entrusted not only gave me personal pride but my kids were also proud of their mama!

2. What are your goals for the year 2017 (w.r.t blogging)?

My goals for blogging this year is to go back to writing more personal posts, engage more with my audience, gain more credibility and be able to give my family, even more, experiences through my blogging opportunities. As a newly single mom, there’s so much for me to share and write about. I’d love to a chance to meet some of the people that follow me and my blog. As for experiences, my blog has definitely paved many ways for us to enjoy new things and create more memories as a family.

3. What is your best advice for beginning mommy bloggers?

Start with passion. With passion you’ll strive to write better, you’ll get more creative and everything else will follow. Write about what you like and would like to know more about. I’ve found blogging as a way to research on a particular topic I’d been wanting to learn about and for sure there are other people that are just as interested in you. Lastly, create a blog calendar so you and plan and keep track of your progress. It’s encouraging to see what you’ve done when you look back. It’ll also help you plan your posts especially when they become too many!

1. What are your 2 biggest achievements in the year 2016?

The first blogging achievement I would say is being able to start a YouTube channel and going live on Facebook. This digital age requires you to keep up with technology and what works for your audience. Second is guesting on CNN Philippines. I would never have thought that my blog would have been recognized enough to be worthy to guest on the news channel.

2. What are your goals for the year 2017 (w.r.t blogging)?

I would love to become a resource speaker and share whatever I can from what I have written on my blog, I have so many ideas in my head and I feel like I am almost a jack of all trades hehe. Another would be to continue what I am doing which is to inspire other moms to live their life to the fullest. Being busy is not an excuse to make time for yourself and this is what my blog does – give me time for myself.

3. What is your best advice for beginning mommy bloggers?

Write with a purpose and a heart. I have seen many start up mommy blogs that put up a blog just because there’s free space on the web. Blogging is not just about the free stuff, the popularity, and the earnings but it’s really about making a difference in a small way and reaching out to others in the hope that they can relate to you too. So before you go and publish that post – ask yourself is this really want I want to share with the world wide web, a hastily copy-pasted press release or do I want to somehow positively impact someone’s daily life with what I write?

1. What are your 2 biggest achievements in the year 2016?

I am not as active in blogging as I used to but I am fortunate to have earned the trust and confidence of prestigious brands like Smart, Sanofi, and Alaska as sponsors in 2016.

2. What are your goals for the year 2017 (w.r.t blogging)?

My goal for this year is to be able to maintain my online presence despite the deluge of new bloggers. I also plan to work with blogger friends to create a workshop where I can share my knowledge on social media relations and blogging ethics coz I’ve been blogging for 8 years now and was an advertising and PR practitioner for 10years before that.

3. What is your best advice for the beginning mommy bloggers?

I started my blog mainly as a creative outlet for my various interests and experiences as a mom. I believe the main motivation for starting a blog is your passion and intent to share information. Content is still king when it comes to blogging and you need to be able to offer something different and interesting while remaining true to who you are. Set personal boundaries and blogging policies so you are guided along the way and remain consistent when opportunities come your way. Have fun and engage with other bloggers so you can also learn and make your presence felt in the mom blogger community.

1. What are your 2 biggest achievements in the year 2016?

For the year 2016, 2 of my biggest achievement would be

  1. Creating my own #AMWWorkshopSeries which was my dream for quite some time now.
  2. Helping brands in terms of PR and Marketing and Blog Events.

2. What are your goals for the year 2017 (w.r.t blogging)?

The goal for 2017 is to create more workshops (which I did, as I did 3 workshops year 2016 and 6 this coming 2017).  Aside from that, I am aiming for teaching Makeup and skincare to various brands across the Philippines.

As for Blogging, my goal is to write and share more tips and tricks not only related to Beauty and Skincare but also about Motherhood.

3. What is your best advice for beginning mommy bloggers?

My best advice for beginning Mommy Bloggers is to follow your “gut-feel” as a mom.  You don’t need to follow a certain rule because there’s really no right or wrong as a MOM.  Write from the heart and share what works or what doesn’t work for you and your family.  Your readers will feel the sincerity of your post thus you will gain readers, loyal and real readers.

1. What are your 2 biggest achievements in the year 2016?

Giving birth to our youngest child, and being invited to share God’s Word through Preacher In Blue Jeans, an online show of Brother Bo Sanchez.

2. What are your goals for the year 2017 (w.r.t blogging)?

  • To make God’s love known to more and more people, not just moms
  • To inspire at least one person to discover and grow the riches he/she already has
  • To have offline events related to the blog’s mission and vision, like talks, retreats, and recollections

3. What is your best advice for beginning mommy bloggers?

  • Discover your “whys” for blogging. These should be the basis for your posts.
  • Write about what you love but don’t forget to write for your audience too — God can use even what you might think are the “shallowest” or “simplest” blog post topics to inspire other people.
  • Always be humble, work hard, and have fun!
  • Your integrity matters more than blog earnings or events. So don’t collaborate with just any brand or business. Make sure they are aligned with your values.
  • Do your best, and God will do the rest.
